CUFOS

CUFOS is a PC based control system created by DN Solutions.
Equipped with intuitive and user-friendly functions such as a smart phone screen and easy customization, CUFOS helps to improve operational efficiency and performance for the user.

Providing touch-based operation, similar to an App, the machine tool can be used as you would a smartphone.

CUFOS provides not only the basic UI for operating machines, but also large-capacity program storage by adopting PC-based hardware.
It also enables the creation of tool paths for special machining (Sketch Technology), an interactive programming system (Sketch Turn),
measurement code creation system, machine simulation, and a real-time collision protection system (CPS).

It is also possible to hold/store specific functions developed by the customer.

① Common Information Window
Regardless of selected functions, the information display window will be shown constantly.
It consists of the home screen return button, previous App return button, alarm message, machine status icon, and the NC mode information display function.
② Shortcut
Displays the App execution button to be selected without having to return to the home screen.
③ Batch edition of App selection button and shortcuts
Selects the App selection button shown on the screen, changes the App button location and selects the App button to be displayed to enable the shortcut.
④ App selection button
Displays the available apps allowing the user to quickly select the function required by touching the displayed button.

Machine Tools, is an integrated system solution using an intuitive 19 inch touch screen. The system provides a convenient operator interface, a high level of customization and many useful high technology apps.
CUFOS operation for enhanced productivity
The CUFOS operating system is based upon the integration of all aspects of the manufacturing process, including setting, machining and maintenance.
It consolidates up-to-date software technology created by DN Solutions
Machine Tools, to improve overall efficiency and productivity.
Using the system’s modular construction, each function can be easily integrated with external PC software systems and applications, such as CAM and Tool Data systems.
Maximizing efficiency for multi-tasking machining
Applied to those multi-tasking turning centers like the PUMA SMX series as well as high-performance and high-productivity horizontal machining center NHP/NHM series, CUFOS maximizes operational efficiencies by adding up-to-date software technology from DN Solutions, including newly developed applications such as the CPS (Collision Protection System), Turn-cut, and the Tool Management function etc.

- - A function to prevent collisions from occurring in real time between the tool and equipment / machine elements inside the working area.

- - Supports Sandvik’s cloud-based tool library for 3D tool model creation
- - As a PC based NC, it allows the HDD to be used as a storage space for machining program, saving time for program transfer.

- - Easy to convert the screen to standard FANUC format for operator convenience
- - Displays the cause and necessary action for NC/PMC alarms during machine running time. The system can send an email containing the alarm message if the condition persists for a specified length of time.

- - Generates tool paths for Turn-cut operations

- - Linear scales and ball screw shaft cooling are requirements
- - Renishaw NC4 should be included depending on the level of precision required
- - Automatically checks if a warm up process is required, and displays (graphically) the required operator procedure to be followed. The requirement is automatically determined by the machine status.
- - DN Solutions EOP (Easy Operation Package) tool management

- - CUFOS provides management and setting functions such as HMI parameter / User setting / Setup manager
- - Users can generate memos, either with a high level of detail via screen capture, or entered by the keyboard/touchscreen. The user can add data to existing memos if required.
- - Maximum 120 memos can be saved
- - Users can store and view manuals on the 19 inch screen.
- - Monitors the status of machine and control elements, and confirms the alarm condition and maintenance schedule for preventative maintenance.
